The problem is identified as the excessive plastic waste affecting sea life and human activity. The proposed solution involves creating a cartoon to promote responsible consumption and encourage plastic collection among beachgoers, both locals and tourists.
The cartoon’s plot centers on an evil supervillain seagull trying to take over the world by controlling plastic pollution, using humor and irony to engage the audience. The message is to raise awareness through various media, including newspapers, TV, social media platforms like TikTok, and posters.
Additionally, robotic dogs from Boston Dynamics, such as “Spot,” are suggested as tools to collect plastic on beaches, adding a direct impact element to the solution alongside the cartoon’s awareness campaign. The total cost of employing such technology is estimated at 75,000 Euros.
The combined use of robotics and media campaigns aims to both educate and actively contribute to cleaning up plastic pollution on beaches.
